OVERVIEW

Metrus recently developed and financed a pair of innovative efficiency projects at its industrial customer’s Midwest and Southwest facilities. The flexibility of the Metrus ESA became evident as the multi-site project progressed and the customer was able to seamlessly add efficiency measures.

During the first ESA term (10 years), the company benefitted from annual cash savings, equipment resiliency and a reduced carbon footprint. Without Metrus financing, this long-term payback project (6+ years) would have been delayed or not undertaken at all. The ESA was later expanded to include the financing of additional LED lighting systems to help the customer meet its site-level 2020 GHG reduction targets.

Four years later, Metrus closed a second ESA with this customer to encompass a Southwest site in need of efficiency upgrades. This multi - measure project added kWh, kW, therms, and water savings and an additional $100 thousand annual savings for the site. Metrus encourages customers to be creative and expand scope to other sites to maximize the ESA opportunity.
