By partnering with Metrus, Kuakini was able to carry out key facility improvements, allowing the hospital to maximize efficiency, sustainability and patient comfort without using its own capital or taking on new debt. In addition, during the ESA term a series of new LED lighting upgrades were rolled into the project that added 398,000 kWh of savings to the project and an additional $87,000 annual savings for the hospital. The ability of the Metrus ESA to seamlessly incorporate additions and extensions to the original project scope is a key feature of the financing arrangement.
